We have been active in the development of environmental and natural resources statutes, rules and policies in Oregon. Our attorneys have drafted legislation in every session of the Oregon Legislative Assembly since the firm was founded in 1990. Many have served on numerous advisory committees for agencies in the state, assisting in the development of rules and policies in areas such as chemical process mining, dry cleaning, environmental cleanup, environmental enforcement, geothermal development, hazardous waste, hazardous waste/toxic use reduction, mined land reclamation, pesticide waste, oil and gas development, orphan site funding, pollution tax credits, spill management, water quality, and water resources. Our attorneys work with clients to obtain the necessary authorizations for the financing, construction, and operation of large-scale and complex projects, including coal, cogeneration, geothermal, hydroelectric, nuclear, and wind electric generation facilities, solid and hazardous waste landfills, and water and wastewater treatment plants. When problems arise, our attorneys have been at the forefront of complex environmental and natural resource litigation. Several of our attorneys have technical backgrounds, including one who worked as an environmental engineer, one as a chemical engineer and one as a biologist.
